J.V. Lane
J.V. Lane is a striving soul whose journey from the rugged hills and coal mines of Appalachia to the vibrant landscapes of Asia, South Africa, Australia, South America and beyond built the foundation for “In Search of Other Suns.”
A former educator who now lives in Castleton, Indiana, J.V. carries the spirit of her coal camp roots. She remembers and cherishes the beauty in the struggles she survived in coal country and the enduring spirit of the land and its people.
J.V. earned her B.A. in English at Berea College and her master’s, with certifications in secondary English teaching and special education, from the University of Louisville and the University of Denver. She earned a B.S. in business from the University of South Carolina.
“In Search of Other Suns” is her literary debut. Her novel is a stirring fictional account of the life she lived and her moments and experiences in foreign cultures that even now continue to influence her life and perspective.
